Dave Ramsey is all about cutting up the cards...

Too much stupid crap with credit so even when we get back on our feet i highly doubt we'll ever get another credit card. Think it'll be easier to just save up a couple grand drop it in a seperate savings or checking account with a debit card and use that as my "Credit Card" never have to worry about payments....

We used the credit cards we have to build our credit back up from the crap that was created by past student loans and medical bills. And they have come in handy. And we make regular payments and pay them off as quickly as possible. The only one we have had problems with is the one from Ashley. And I have some friends that have had similar problems with them. I wasn't worried until they caused me to have problems with another creditor!

Re: er, that's illegal revia September 15 2009, 15:19:55 UTC
Nope. It's legal. They just have to give me a 15-day notice (unless the law has changed already, I think it changes next year to require a 45-day notice).

But, if I do opt out, they have to allow me to still pay it off at the original interest rate. I am going to call tomorrow and tell them that I'm going to do that. I hate to lose this card, it's great for medical emergencies for both us and the cats, but I am not paying a higher rate.
