"Roomie," Karina greeted, wandering in and dropping her purse on her bed.

Then Karina actually looked at Emily.

"... You okay?" The face buried thing was kinda indicating not, right?

NOT IT WAS NO INDICATION OF ANYTHING WHY DO YOU SAY THAT.

Looking up, Emily gave her a shy smile. "It's nothing; I'm just a bit tired today. Too much excitement in such little time." To further prove that she sat up and crossed her legs over the bed. "See? All good. How are you doing?"

"Where are you finding excitement here?" she asked, amused and flopping down on her bed. "It's a cute little town but it's not a thrill-a-minute place."

Karina considered that.

"... Unless you were from an even smaller place and then I suppose this might be?" Might. If you squinted a lot.

Emily decided her choice of words had been poor. Emily also decided she needed to be more careful while talking to Karina.

"Oh, nothing like that. It's just that there's so many different people here...and I guess I do some from an even smaller place, in a way." Mental institutions and secret ninja cults? Not yet giving her a greater scope of the world. Eventually that would change, though.
