After the first class of the one course Emily knew she wouldn't manage to stay completely unaffected by, the girl had decided some alone time was in order. Maybe Karina wouldn't be around, so that Emily could have the entire room for herself. There were books to read, news to watch, information to compare, backstories to double check and-
And her cellphone was ringing. Great. Taking it from her pocket, Emily gave the number an angry stare before realizing just who was at the other side of the line. Then she got downright infuriated. Emily did a quick check up of the room. She was alone, which was good. Locking her door, Emily started to pace around the room before finally answering.
It was her dear mentor, of course. "Five days. Five fucking days in this rock and you call me just now?!"
Takeda didn't answer right away, surely making his best effort not to engage in a petty discussion that wasn't going to benefit neither of them. "I told you, you are on your own. I am just checking to see how have you found the accommodations."
"The accommodations are shit and I'm taking Friendship classes with someone who doesn't even have opposable thumbs." Yeah she was going to rant about the pony first and nobody could make her stop. "A pink pony! Pink! Plus half the students are ridiculous. I'm not sure this is such a good idea. This might end up being pretty fucking dangerous."
This time his answer came right along. "You always knew it would be dangerous. Now suck it up and don't make me pull you out." Emily's grip on the cellphone tightened; if she didn't do outstanding here, Takeda was never going to let her destroy the Graysons and everyone around them. And she needed his help, at least for now.
Calming herself, Emily sat on her bed. "Fine. Emily Thorne will prove to be an exceptional, flawless student. A great friend, a promising young girl." Even if she hated them all and their happiness and the levity in which they carried themselves in everything their did. "Don't call me again unless it's important. They have eyes everywhere in here."
"Very well," Takeda answered. "Next time I will probably have an assignment for you. It shall be a while yet. Do train yourself in the meantime." And just like that he finished the call.
Sighing heavily, Emily went and opened her door again. Then she just threw herself in her bed, face buried in a pillow.
