I am sick and tired of people calling Mohinder stupid. So he's not streetsmart, and maybe he doesn'y have pure and bright people skills that let him know when serial killers might be stalking him, or pretty girls might be secretly working for bad guys. SO WHAT.
And for crying out loud, who really expects those things?
And he's a cerebral character. He relies on his brains, yes, but he's a geek. Like Hiro, only taller. He's a chemistry club loser. He's not supposed to be perfect. He's not supposed to know these things yet. Leave him alone and let him get smart on his own time.
And a gigantic edit:Okay, so maybe I wasn't all rational when I wrote that. However, I stand by the essence of my case, which being that as much as we like our geniuses, both on tv and in real life, it's easy for me to admit that the smartest people I know, self included, have common sense on the light side. One the one hand this is a good thing. Most dicoveries weren't really made by people with a lot of common sense. On the other hand it's fucking awful, because most of the time when you lack common sense, you lack a sense of people. That makes you pretty good prey for psychopaths.
But hey, Sylar plays a pretty good Zane, huh? He's sweet, excited, darling. What's not to love. If we met Sylar/Zane now, instead of however many episodes it's been, most of us would probably be shocked to find out he's a serial killer. Or not. He is a little creepy.
At any rate, I'm just trying to say Mohinder isn't dumb. He's not people smart, he's SOMEHOW still naive, but he's not dumb.
