I'm sorry to hear about your medical issues. I hope that gets better.

I'm curious what renovations you're doing, and how that's going. I'm just working on a single house every now and then as I can afford it and have time. It's fun though.

Well, my girlfriend and I bought one of the 2-story brick buildings on Grand River in old town. The downstairs is gorgeous, but the upstairs is badly in need of cosmetic renovation. In the efficiency apartment, we tore up the bathroom to the subfloor, added cement board, and tiled. In the 1 bedroom, where I'm living, we're going to knock out some walls to create a more open space, retile the kitchen and bathroom, get new kitchen cupboards, add french doors, and get rid of the drop ceiling. Basically a top to bottom cosmetic renovation.

It's a lot of work, but I think it will pay off financially in teh end and it's also the kind of hard work that's good for the soul, I think.
