Seriously ready to give up on certain aspects of the shop.....

While I still love running the comic shop, it's becoming glaringly apparent that people are taking their business elsewhere. Not all of their business... comic sales are relatively steady, toy sales are above average for this time of year. It's really just one thing, but it's a big one, one that is weighing on me lately more and more ( Read more... )

Frankly, if it's not worth it, and they're unappreciative, set the space aside for something else. Find a new thing. Do what's best for you. Your business is meant to be profitable AND enjoyable. Regarding Heroclix, it seems to be neither.

I'm probably going to run these next few weeks and see if I need to re-evaluate the use of space. IF I don't see a serious upswing in clix being played at the shop in the next 8 weeks... the tournament thing will be done. I'm tired of beating a dead horse.

This is going to be rough to say, but barring serious changes, I think you should put an end to tournaments. Aside from a handful of people, you know as well as I do people take it for granted. A few come for the fun, but a few people come just to get the prizes and sell them somewhere else (and that's on top of getting the kits somewhere else in the first place ( ... )

You wouldn't be as "bitter" if it wasn't something you cared about. You put a lot of time and effort into the tournament scene in your store, and you're right that people took it for granted ( ... )
