sorry, so I've been a bum and not posted anything in a long while (not that there has been a huge outcry from the masses of adoring fans out in cyberland)...

but we're back safely stateside:
I had surprised CWitW a while back with tickets for vacation to someplace warm with sand & water (a combined christmas/valentines/ day/birthday present) - dirt

Wow, that sounds like the kind of holiday my sister has taken ere now on the Cook Islands, and Tonga (a fairly short flight from her home in NZ) - they also prefer very simple accommodation and minimal flashiness.

I'm told Turkey can provide that sort of holiday. I'd like to experience it!

oh, Turkey sounds like an interesting place too...

part of us was mildly ashamed at sitting daily on the beach looking out towards the breakwater at the reef (one mile eastward) and thinking maybe we ought to visit the coral reef and such (kind of like being in England but not having any fish n' chips and a beer?)... but we wanted relaxation and decided we'd certainly be back again.

Ah yes, the touristic imperative to Go And Be Culturally Enriched... it's surprisingly difficult to simply sit around and RELAX with our busy-busy mindset. Nice that you can plan to return and perhaps be more active.

We're in the middle of planning our next trip to NZ - Dec 09/Jan 2010 - building in a hearty few days for just chilling out at the family holiday cottage.
