I <3 Everwood, and Other TV Ramblings

Oct 09, 2004 03:44

Due to my uber-hectic schedule over the last few weeks, I fell behind on the two TV shows I actually watch on a fairly regular basis (well, two out of the three - The West Wing is obviously the third, but conveniently, it isn't premiering until October 20th). However, tonight I decided to sit down to try and catch up, and I ended up watching two ( Read more... )

e.r., tv, everwood

You love teenage shows because you want to bond with Kalan over them and be all like "Remember when Joey asked Dawson to... um... hee!" and like, seduce him. But just like Dawson, he'll say no. And he'll be baffled by your reference to the unsuccessful seduction scene and suddenly understand that you're crazy and he'll come and live in my kingdom*. And then you'll be angsty and you'll turn to your angsty teen-y shows for comfort and <3 them that much more.

See guy, I understand these things. I am King of Knowing Stuff. :D

And like, I'm totally amused at your Everwood love, because like, everyone knows that Everwood wishes it was The OC.

* I am also King of No Lying Liars Allowed Land. Affi is my queen. Hee.

I care enough about ER to comment on this. Hee. I just want to say that I can finally be happy again when they produce an episode that doesn't make me cry - I've been bawling every episode since Kim lost her baby.

I love Shane West and expect good things from him - the CBGB shirt was sweet, and I'd love a doctor like that.

I too watch it almost solely for Parminder Nagra, but I fear that she's going to leave the show soon as they're distancing her from the hospital and steering her towards a social work path.

Nope, apparently she's going to be around for quite awhile - both Noah Wyle and Laura Innes have said they're thinking of leaving the show soon, and that the writers think, and they agree, that it's time to build around the next generation, of which they've sited Parminder and Linda Cardellini as the new stars.

Oh good! I can't believe that I forgot about Linda Cardellini - Sam is actually my favourite character on the show now.

I think I may like this new generation even better, although I'll miss Noah Wyle.

I'm not a huge fan of Linda Cardellini's acting, nor of the way Sam is being written, but I don't mind her as much when she's with Luka as I do the rest of the time.

I loved most of the old generation from back in the days when ER was a quality show and not something to laff at and keep watching despite of the badness. I mean, I'm not particuarly a fan of George Clooney or Julianna Marguiles, but they were excellent together on the show, and Anthony Edwards also did some really fine work before TPTB started messing around with the show. Of course, Noah Wyle and Laura Innes will always be my favourites - Noah is one of my original TV boyfriends, and I just admire Laura Innes' acting to pieces, even though Kerry has been one of the worst-treated characters on the show since Day 1.
