Walking

Ever since I started walking regularly and lengthily last fall, people have been asking me the same question: "How many miles do you walk?" I've never really had a good answer to that question, as I've always just been counting the amount of time I walk and transferring that into Activity Points (which is a Weight Watchers thing). I cannot begin to tell you how many times back in PA that has happened to me; many close calls. People running a red light as I start to cross, or careening around a corner wildly....I practice defensive walking.

Wow! I bet I haven't walked 50 miles in my lifetime. That's fantastic that you're doing so well with it. I really need to get back into it as I know it will make me feel better if I do.

Sometimes I have to force myself to walk simply because I know it'll make me feel better and I know that I need to in order to keep my weight loss goal on track.

It's hard, though. Especially when you're depressed. And my depression has been really bad the past few weeks. Yet I know how important it is to get out and get moving for a couple of hours. So I've been able to force myself to do it. It sucks. But I do always feel better afterward, even if only a little bit.

I can't motivate myself to get out of bed when I'm depressed much less go out and walk. I'm really impressed with your determination. It gives me hope that I can do it as well.
