These are the pictures of the initial damage in our house. Thankfully it was pretty minor compared to some, everything just feel over and a pipe in the roof broke. No structural damage but a lot of cleaning up. Aftershocks are still rumbling through (three as I made this post), and I found a cool site with animations of them and the big quake here.
The kitchen, you can't see it too clearly but there are four bookshelves above the microwave and a cupboard above the oven. See all that stuff on the floor? That's what used to be in them.
The living room, this is actually after I started cleaning because there was books all over the floor at first. We have so many more books than I thought. Also, that big blue thing is my sister's exercise ball.
More of the living room. That's the table we hid under fo two hours and slept under on the first night while the aftershocks were still pretty bad and we didn't have power.

Where I went to get drinkable water. I survived the first two days on coke and orange juice. Not as fun as it sounds.
NOTE: Those random white spaces are where I blanked out the name of the town (not mine anyway, just the closest) because photos are easy to find on the 'net, esp. hosted on PB. Most of you probably have a good idea about where I live by what I've said but I don't want to make it too easy :P (Darfield was the town at the epicentre- it's not my town)
Saw this at the supermarket- didn't matter though, by the time I got there they were sold out.
This was interesting- the shelves were unstable so if we wanted something over the other side we had to ask the two supermarket workers to get them for us. They were really nice though.
The central library at my University, found these on the internet. Anyone want to guess why it's closed for the semester? The University itself is closed for another week after aftershocks closer to the city as well. I have no idea what's happening with the exam timetable and assignments now.
Also, writing again! This time something kinda normal (as opposed to the odd far-future murder one), it's set in the Poison-verse, which has been somewhat neglected of late. I'm really hoping I can finish this. I think it will do me good to get posting again. Btw, the current title is: The Short-Lived Saga Of The Jedi Knights Of The House Of El, so yeah, take that how you will :P
