416, most of Friday morning and afternoon

Peter had gotten back from the city and was ready to get into the swing of Fandom life again. This was helped in no small part by knowing his brother was in town.

First up was getting unpacked, as well as hopefully handing out some of the presents he'd bought while he was away.

"Hey stranger," Isabel grinned, poking her head into the room. "Did you miss me?"

"Hey," Peter said, smiling as he saw her. "Happy new year! How was your break?"

"Pretty great. I spent a week in Roswell and then got back here in time for the New Year's party," she told him. "And I've pretty much been hanging out reading trashy fiction ever since."

Peter held up some of his new Ninth Wonders comics. "I can't judge."

Claire flew back in, dumped her stuff, and came up to Peter's room almost straight away, only hoping he wasn't involved in things she didn't want to interrupt.

She had a heavish rectangular present tucked under one arm, in silver paper with a purple ribbon and bow.

"I have never been so glad a holiday's over?"

"No improvements after we talked?" Peter said, with sympathy. He went to give her a hug. "Hey. Happy New Year. Again."

Claire squeezed him tight with the arm not holding a present, and shook her head. "I didn't kill my brother, though. Do I get points for that?"

"You do as far as I'm concerned," Peter said. He gave her a tight squeeze in return, then stepped back. "So lemme guess - you're here for my scintillating conversation."

Sam was heading down the fourth floor hallway to see if Dean was in or still at the picnic, when he noticed that Peter's door was open. He stood there for a few moments, debating whether or not to go in, and when he thought about how much more awkward this would be if he and Peter met up randomly, he went over and knocked on the door before peering inside.

"Hey," he said. "I see you survived your break."

Peter didn't want to admit how glad he was to see Sam again. Fortunately he always had sulky immaturity to call upon. "Yeah. Guess I beat the odds there, huh?"

Sam stayed where he was in the doorway, unable to help looking guilty. "I'm sorry about what I said about your powers and your control. I didn't mean it."

Peter deflated a little. It was hard to stay pissed at someone when they apologized. Which kinda sucked since Peter had been nursing the grudge for a while now.

"Sure sounded like you meant it," Peter replied, hanging on to his sulkiness, at least.

Ronan decided that a stop was in order on his way to the welcome picnic, so he detoured onto the fourth floor and knocked on the doorframe as he leaned around it. "Good morning," he said, grinning. "How was the rest of your vacation?"

"Not nearly as interesting as one day in particular," Peter replied, grinning back. "C'mon in. How was the rest of yours?"

"Well, I spent an afternoon fixing some potholes," Ronan said, laughing, as he stepped into the room and moved over to give Peter a quick kiss. "... Which is more interesting than it sounds, given that they were caused by lost aliens."

Peter kissed him back, then tried to process what he'd said. "Okay, I give up. Alien plot holes?"

It was sometime around midday when Mac finally made her way back to Fandom, and into 416 with a couple of bags in each hand. She practically dropped them in the doorway.

She gave Peter a big grin, and a "Happy new year!" in greeting.

"Happy new year!" Peter replied. "Need help with those?"

"Wouldn't mind," she said starting to nudge one towards her bed with a foot. "Surprising how much hard work is involved with portals and luggage."

"You have a good holiday?"

Peter grabbed a bag and brought it over to Mac's bed. "Pretty good. Ronan came up to visit, which was nice. How about you?"
