I got carded today. For buying an R-rated movie at Walmart. I didn't think they *did* card people for movies anymore, but it happened.

Cashier (scanning what I thought was the Christmas CDs I picked up): How old are you?
me: Um... 22
Cashier: Do you have any ID?
Me, totally confused, because WTF, for a Christmas CD?: Yeah, sure. ::digs out ID ( Read more... )

I got carded when buying a movie a couple of weeks ago, and I'm considerably older than you. It'd definitely weird.

It was weirder when I thought she was asking me about the Christmas CD she had just scanned (or that I *thought* she had just scanned. It was the one right before the movie on the recipt), but it still wasn't something I expected even when she told me it was for the movie. I mean, there was a month or there abouts back at home when, supposedly, the movie theatre would card people before going into an R-rated movie, or require a note from an "underaged"s parent specifiying that they were, in fact, allowed to watch the movie, but since I rarely go to the movies, it wasn't something I ever had to deal with. That, and it kinda faded out after only a few weeks from what I understand.

Getting carded for a movie at Walmart, though, was a bit weird, yes.

Snort. I've never been carded. Supposedly they do around here for movies, but I've never seen it happen. (Or maybe i look to old x.x)
