OMG, is it Thursday already? Thank goodness I made my flight to Cleveland for Saturday mid-day instead of Friday evening. I'm so not ready for my weekend visit. OMG! I'm going to visit a cute baby! And her parents, whom I love. Hurrah!
But, first...
Ugh, my eyes have been tired and dry and slightly achy this week, like the last thing I want to do is put little suctiony pieces of plastic in them, even if does mean I can wear my new, fab sunglasses. I know I'm supposed to put my contacts in every day and wear them so I get used to them, but I don't wanna! Maybe later. Like, I don't know when. What?! So I spent money on them, so what? I'm not *obligated* to use them. I have the option now and I can start any time. Ha. At least I like my new glasses pretty well. I don't remember my eyes always feeling dry before, so I think they are still mad at me from the two times earlier this week that I suctioned plastic over them and then pulled it off. I mean, wouldn't you be?
The weather, while beautiful in every form here, continues to play between cold and warm, so my footwear continues to alternate between Doc Martens and Birkenstocks and my legs continue to HOWL about same. *sigh* What can I do but keep walking? And stretching. And soaking. And massaging. And complaining.
I had "reserve juror" jury duty this week, which just meant that I had to check twice a day for two days to see if they needed me to report for jury duty. Some confusion at work about which days, so I had a very light desk schedule for several days. I didn't end up having to report to court, so that was nice.
I ordered a bunch of books from Amazon, and -- note to self, if you want them to ship to you by US Postal Service, keep the orders smaller. I missed UPS delivery yesterday, but my boss was totally awesome at work today and managed to rearrange things for me so I could take comp time this afternoon. So I'm at home, kicking back as I wait for UPS to make a second delivery attempt. I have the front door to the building open half a foot and kinda propped and I'm checking it every so often to make sure it stays that way, so they'd better not say they tried a delivery attempt and missed me. I expect a knock on my fucking apartment door, bitches! Oh, and there's a buzzer in the hallway, too. Use it!
I *finally* found book covers for paperback books. I have been looking for weeks, combing froogle.com and asking at bookstores. This morning I plunked some terms into regular google.com and bam! There they were. Woo hoo! Paperback novel protected from rough usage during my upcoming international travels.
There is a job opportunity that has me completely jazzed yesterday and today.
heresluck demonstrated once again why she's my favorite by talking to me yesterday when I was being completely weird and bibbling about the possibility. I'm revisiting the idea again today with a bit more practical focus on whether a certain key aspect would be feasible. This requires investigation. Fortunately, investigation relaxes me. I'm going to do that now, okay? Thank you!
