All of this was lovely, but this is probably my favorite line of yours that I've ever read:

they were the only two people in the world and all that mattered was that they were falling apart together.

I don't know how you did it in so few words but this is SO packed with emotion! I could just feel their smiles tugging at their lips. My little heart over-floweth because of this ficlet!
