Shivering, Lucius burrowed further into his threadbare cloak. The wall was cold and unforgiving at his back. He wanted nothing more than a hot bath.
But in Azkaban? That luxury was a flight of fancy.
Lucius never thought he’d find himself here again. Thought the Muggle-ordained Shacklebolt would have shut down this place or at least ridded it of the Dementors. He’d hoped he’d learned to be sneakier, covert.
At least the world was no less predictable: the sainted were hypocrites and a Malfoy had been dealt a bad card.
Lucius smiled bitterly. He’d deal himself a new hand.
