Eep. What a hard decision for Xander to make. I very much like this line: They’re… going backwards, somehow, regressing into early versions of themselves before things got so hard, because, reading S8, it's so true. And yet he's strong, and he makes the hard choice - the right choice, I think - in the end.

if they're actually going backwards why would anyone come back like he worries. You can't come back from a trip you haven't taken yet.

Xander's voice- nailed it. You've managed to relay a horrible, hard situation with a sense of humor, and I think this is exactly how things would go down if Xander did have to make that choice.

I really enjoyed this - twisted and complex, with such temptation for Xander in a variety of forms.

And like somebody vomited a film noir festival over him is a treat - great image, great view of Xander's mindset at that point.

Awww, Xander... this is a really interesting take on the scenario. I am glad to know that Xander's learned enough to realize it wouldn't have gone well if he'd accepted the offer. Good story!
