thank you, thank you, thank you for choosing to remix this fic for me. this is the first fic i ever wrote in the fandom, and as such has a special place in my heart. but that you choose to remix it using the framework of fergal keane and the genocide in rwanda lifts it to a whole new level for me.

i teach that genocide using as a centerpiece frontline's 'ghosts of rwanda' and as i read this it triggered so many feelings and i could so clearly see it all playing out; walking on the path to the church compound at the massacre at nyarubuye and having it open into the compound and seeing the bodies left by the interahamwe. seeing valentina then and then ten years later.

keane makes such a strong case for never believing when people say never again and his sense of human failure is palpable. you gave me all that and more with this, and i can't say thank you enough.
