Two remixes? *is happy - astonished, but happy*

I love the sheer level of detail in this - how you've taken the random bits of something kind of futuristic from the original and turned it into a fullfledged cyberpunk story (Are you sure you're not Bruce Sterling or Neal Stephenson or someone?) I love how you've expanded and added beyond the original narrow scope.

Oh yeah, and I love Groves the dolphin - but then again, who wouldn't? Can I take him home with me? If I promise to be nice to him? Very nice ;-)

Okay, seriously - why haven't more people been reading this? 'Cos it's fucking gorgeous and nuanced and bittersweet. It's a fully-realized cyberpunk future, wherein James and Jack and Anamaria are still themselves and yet . . . more. And all the 'minor' characters are more interesting and more than the movies could have ever imagined them being. What's more, I love that it's not just Jack and James' story that's important here, that while it's definitely interesting in its own right, the stories of Anamaria and Andrea and Scarlett and Groves are just as interesting, if not more so. And I really love the way discussions of appearances and the things people feel they need to have to be THEMSELVES have been foregrounded here, made more explicit than the offhand treatment they get in the film and the slightly more visible treatment they get in the original fic. Also, I really love the realness of this and the feel one gets that this is what life in the islands is like, had always been like, will always be like, even if the world sprouts a ( ... )

Beautiful! I loved the original fic and I think you've done it great justice with this remix. I especially like that Andrea Gillette wasn't always 'Andrea'. *grin* I enjoyed the glimpses of the other characters from PotC, especially how you've worked Scarlet in. Bravo!
