Oh, I love this! Ray is SO AWESOME in this story.

I think this is my favorite bit:

I'm really still pretty embarrassed by that, so if we can just skip on to the next thing? Thanks.

Thank you! I'm with Ray on that one: the less time spent dwelling on mistakes, the better *g*

This is an excellent companion piece to the original story, and I love your Ray in this!

This is AWESOME!

It's really fascinating to see someone else's take on my story.

I guess what I'm saying is that adventures can be dirty or clean. The dirty ones drag you down, after the adrenaline wears off, kind of leave a stain on your soul, if you know what I mean.

What a great passage.

I learn by doing I told him, and that's true, that's always been true. But I should have been more careful. Because what I was doing was getting used to the closeness and the happiness and the being-together-ness, and what I learned was to think that I could magic my dreams into real life.

It's so cool how you've come up with a whole Ray backstory/reason for his actions in my story. It's completely different than what I would've come up with and MUCH BETTER.

I'm really still pretty embarrassed by that, so if we can just skip on to the next thing? Thanks.

HEE! ♥

All of your #2 is just...wow. I'm blown away. Yay! I'm glad you picked this story. (And I'm dying to know your sekrit identity!)

*blushes* Thank you! I'm glad you liked -- this was one of the first stories I read when I started the fandom, so imagine how psyched I was to have the chance to remix!... at least until the 'what if she hates it' fear kicked in, so! I knew that I'd be giving Ray different motives and reasons from what you thought when you wrote your piece, but I hope it's not too left field.... Thank you for giving me the opportunity to play *g*

Wow! I never would've guessed you were my remixer! I have your recent SGA fic open in a tab; I'm trying to build up the emotional resilience to read it. :D If it's anything like your beautiful, heartbreaking dS fic Ordinary Days, I'll end up sobbing my eyes out again.

Um. * moves the box of kleenex a bit closer to you and puts a pint of Haagen Dazs in your freezer *

But I can be nice! (...sometimes....)

Wow, Author, this was a great read! I love Blue's original, and this was an excellent companion story. I love the way you chose to expand on some bits, and the context you provide for Ray's actions made your additions even more moving and believable. I read both stories section-by-section, and the two tales are almost seamless. You've done such a great job capturing Ray's voice and giving us the other side of what Fraser perceives: this is a fine study in POV and how to make character motivations make sense. Anyway, great job with this, and I can't wait to see who was behind it all!

Thank you! I'm glad the two stories work well together. The original was one of the first stories I read in the fandom, and I was being very self-indulgent to pick it and give Ray his side of the story *g* (Don't know why, but Ray's voice is much easier for me to capture than Fraser's...)
