That was heartbreakingly beautiful. I loved the snippets - the scence with the robes and drunk!James and the news that Regulus was dead. They were all deftly and perfectly painted. Gorgeous stuff. :)

I love the butter humor in the middle of it all, the way James and Sirius are such boys and such good friends, and how much it hurts to see Sirius lose Regulus, to know the forces against them were probably too strong to fight, and yet wanting them to do it anyway, and then that last scene is a real gut-punch, Sirius ruminating over his regrets yet again. Sigh.

The others have already said it but it bears repeating. This is just the perfect sort of heart-breaking. I love the dynamic you set up between the two of them. I tworks nicely.

I loved this. I don't usually have any interest in Regulus, but it hurt when he told Sirius he wasn't his brother, and when Sirius found out he had died.
