It was the burst of static that made Jenny alert to communicator on her belt. She picked it up and eyed it curiously, nearly jumping when a familiar voice came through.
A wide grin spread across her face and she quickly fingered the device on. "Donna! Donna, it's me! Jenny! Look, Donna, I'm alive!"
Donna stared at the comm, the mixture of emotions she got from that name, those words, almost bewildering. For a moment she felt her eyes prickle with tears and then the effects of the room had control once more.
"You... we saw you... she saw... Are you, you?" Add another Time Lord to the count? "I mean, what do you look like now?"
Jenny gave the communicator a curious shake as she talked, pacing around her crashed ship. She looked at it with confusion, substituting the device for her friend's face.
"Um. What do you mean, what do I look like? It's only been a few days. I look exactly the same. Kind of a daft question, isn't it?"
Donna took a deep breath. "You didn't... Oh. Oi." She closed her eyes. She was having mourning pains for a girl she'd never really known, and talking to the same girl who might never have died.
"You're you, Jenny. Just like your dad." Which was the easiest way to put it. "Where are you? Physically? Sarah Jane's?"
She smiled briefly, at least somewhat assured that her friend recognized her.
"But you already have a whole Doctor, Done. Almost nightly, from what you have implied. And now you have improved that by a half measure more? That is insatiable, even for you I think."
"As a matter of fact it was. Informational overload caused by the sudden and unexpected merging of a Time Lord with a human. I'm Donna Noble, Human Time Lord Time Lord Human. Who are you?"
"Fitz." She frowned. She'd heard the name, might well have met him. "You're the Doctor my Doctor was before he was my Doctor, right?" Again Donna paused, mind working over her own logic to see if she had it right.
"Me with the Weasel... though I don't think he's quite the Weasel now though of course he's the same, I'm the one that's changed."
Susan had been curled up with a book in her TARDIS when she heard Donna's rather perplexing message. She picked up her communicator from the table beside her - she never let it stray far these days, just in case - and spoke gingerly.
"There was a danger of your brain exploding?" How could that have happened?
Donna frowned, canting her head. So many new voices and yet her mind wanted to responded to the voice and it became one of those times she disliked the Zero room's effect on this.
"Not in the sense of bits of brain everywhere, no. Yes in the sense of my mind short circuiting due to it's inability to process what I am now." She laughed. "Ooooh, love his mind."
"Wait, he said and I remember it would and... Ooooh, you don't think they meant literally explode, do you? Like BOOM and little bits of Donna brain everywhere."
She seemed to lean back from the communicator, not that it did much good as she hollered. 'DOCTOR! OI, WHERE ARE YOU?!"
She gave her attention back to the communicator. "I'm half human and half time lord. All Donna though part Doctor."
