I think I've figured out why I don't like shoujo

A few days ago on a whim I decided to read the shoujo manga, W-Juliet. Basically I was bored at onemanga.com (since until last night none of the manga I'm currently reading was updated, oh Agito/Akito you idiot, you better not get yourself hurt again or killed), so I closed my eyes and randomly clicked, if it was something I hadn't read, I would ( Read more... )

Hahah I think that's why I tend to go for magic girl? I like the blend of romance and action. Which is why I tend to like Bleach a lot, when the pacing doesn't suck and KT remembers character development. He's a shoujo fan and romance is a big part of the series so I get both of what I want. His art also has a distinct shoujo edge later on in the series.

May you should try Honey and Clover? That's supposed to be good. Ouran is good for crack. And Princess Tutu is one of the best anime's I've seen (though it's not my cup of tea for the most part.)

The blend of romance and action is what I like too. Even just romance doesn't bug me when it's short; I get too impatient with longer ones since I know they're going to end up together.

Ouran I do like, although I like it a lot better when it's just being fun crack instead of focusing on the pairings (mainly because I've seen what can happen to fandoms because of pairings wars and all the implied stuff between various characters in Ouran is just begging for trouble).
