I think I've figured out why I don't like shoujo

A few days ago on a whim I decided to read the shoujo manga, W-Juliet. Basically I was bored at onemanga.com (since until last night none of the manga I'm currently reading was updated, oh Agito/Akito you idiot, you better not get yourself hurt again or killed), so I closed my eyes and randomly clicked, if it was something I hadn't read, I would give it a try.

My fist pick was Ichigo100% but after reading a few pages of the first chapter, I ran to wiki to read the plot, it sounded dumb, so I decided to try again. W-Juliet was my second pick.

And I was indeed enjoying it in the beginning, it's about Makoto who has a bet with his father to pretend to be a girl for two years so he can live his dream as an actor and Ito the drama club president at the high school who finds out Mako's secret and eventually falls in love him. It was cute and the couple looks adorable together. But the exact same plot keeps going on and on in every freakin' chapter.

Seriously, every chapter is this: Makoto and Ito are out somewhere, something happens where Mako almost gets caught being a boy and therefore they have to do something crazy to keep people from finding out. And the thing is fourteen volumes long!

And that's where the problem lies with your typical shoujo manga (and by typical shougo manga I'm talking about the ones where it's just a girl and guy falling in love). Telling a simple love story shouldn't take 14 volumes!
