And it was right at that unlucky moment that someone haplessly walked into the line of fire. A rumble in his belly had sent him down to the cafeteria to get a snack, and his pockets were bulging on the way back up to his room when Souji stumbled, almost literally, on a girl carrying way too much.

He watched her suitcase sail through the air, almost in slow motion, and his look of dull surprise changed to one of high alert as he reached as quickly as he could to try to catch it. The keyword, unfortunately, was 'try,' and he missed completely. Unfortunately, coming even closer meant a direct impact was imminent, and he winced to brace himself.

It wasn't as bad as he expected, but having a heavy suitcase hit your foot is never all that pleasant. His wince grew pained and sharp, and he breathed roughly through his teeth as he suppressed a shout. And to think, the day started so well.

The elevator beat the hell out of lugging all these things upstairs, so Souji nodded and then twisted his head off to their left. "There is, right over there," he said, then went for something risky and tried to lighten up the situation with a joke, "I've never seen it out of order yet, but knowing our luck today..."
