SUMMARY: Was transferring schools always this difficult?
This was just too much to carry. Suki hadn't had a problem with the suitcase, backpack, and laptop-in-a-box, but when impatience got the better of her and she had added heavy laundry detergent and bleach to the pile, she had to question her mind sometimes. The real trouble didn't start until after checking in with the front desk and left juggling everything. A suitcase, backpack, laptop-in-a-box, the soon-ripping sack of bleach and detergent, and a disorganized wallet and room number and key.
Grumbling, she took a moment to try and arrange everything. If she held the spilling wallet with one hand--no... that didn't work. Maybe if she... no...
Aha! She could switch arms for this one... Yes.
It was a little easier, at least. Items half tucked into her wallet, held in between her thumb and index finger on her right hand, while the remaining three fingers held onto the box's handle, and her left hand held onto the heavy suitcase. She had everything, she just needed to get upstairs to the fourth floor and find her bedroom. Not so bad!
Up until she tripped. With a shocked, somewhat-strangled cry, Suki's left arm swung out to hopefully brace herself from fallling, and, with it, tossing her suitcase straight forward.
