17 year old boy snatched Hey! Say! JUMP Morimoto-kun's mobile phone
Popular idol group "Hey! say! JUMP" member's mobile phone was assumed to have been stolen, Kanagawa prefectural police Aoba station arrested an unemployed boy (17) due to the suspicion of theft on the 17th.

According to the announcement, the boy was suspected to have stolen a mobile phone (with a marketing value of 15,000yen) from Mr. Morimoto (14) of this group around 11:45pm on the 16th, on the streets of Yokohama City, Aoba district, Azamino.

With regards to the investigation, the boy said in his testimony "it was done from a fan's sentiment [or state of mind]. It was correct that it was picked up and carried, though it was not stolen."

The boy visits the Morimoto residence at the end of last year. Morimoto's side consulted the same police station as well as the Saitama prefectural police, saying "the fan went too far". Mr. Morimoto discussed the issue with the boy in a restaurant in Aoba district of Yokohama City on the 16th around 10pm. The boy went out of the shop saying "is it alright that I have a knife?" and When Mr. Morimoto put his mother on the phone the boy asked "where are you calling to [or simply who are you calling]", took the phone and left.

Mr. Morimoto called the boy in the same district, waiting, on the 17th early dawn. Accompanied by the policeman the boy was arrested in the same police station.



The group is a member of Johnny & Associates formed on September 2007. All 10 of them are from the Heisei era, widely active in dramas and variety programs, concerts and the like. As for Johnny's, "we cannot comment [or deal with the problem] due to the absence of a representative" they said.
