Once again my fate in Japan is out of my hands for now. I sent in everything I needed to accept being an alternate. Sent an IRS residency form and a background check to the FBI. I feel relieved I have the next stage of stuff done. Now it is yet to be seen if my work will actually pay off

Well, I'm still rooting for you. I know someone that was an alternate and he ended up getting in after all, so you never know.
