I'm Home

Apr 25, 2007 16:20

Ah, what a whirlwind I've been through! Home again. So strange, after living third world for a month. I left Zambia at 7:30am Monday morning and finally dragged my suitecase through the door of my home in Baltimore yesterday at 3:30pm. I spent 35 hours traveling!! That includes a 9-hour layover in South Africa, a 17 hour flight to the States, and ( Read more... )

Welcome back, Rita. Here is a welcome home present:

http://www.hopeforthehokies.com/

You are welcome to download the songs at no cost. Let me know which ones you like. My favorites are the songs by David Crowder and Charlie Hall. The site will be removed at the end of May.

Blessings to you, Steve

Thank you so much - I LOVE getting new music!

It looks like I've missed something though - what's this website for? What "tragic events" happened at Virginia Tech? :(

Wow, Rita, I'm sorry to have to be the one to mention it. It still gives me goosebumps to even talk about it, but Monday a week ago (on April 16th) a depressed college student killed 32 people (including professors) on campus. Here's my post on it. http://bravobevo.livejournal.com/2007/04/23/

Welcome back! I talked to Emily. She was jet-lagged too. I think she's going back to work today (26th). I can't wait to see all the photos she's taken.

I haven't had a chance to really rest since my plane landed... because of my extended stay in Zambia I couldn't afford to take one more day off of work. But God is giving me a capacity for it all, and it's really nice to be greeted so warmly by all my coworkers. :) They really missed me. :) And last night at church was so nice! I just kept looking around at all the faces I hadn't seen in four weeks. I had an amazing time in Zambia and South Africa but at the same time it's great to be home again. I feel like I've had my vision for life refreshed. :)

Aw, you were so close! :) If you ever come by again and have some advance warning, let me know, it would be nice to meet you. :)

I hope you're doing well! God bless ~

Rita

Unfortunately, I never have advance warning. I show up and they say, go here, and I go. I remind myself of the guys working for the centurion whose servant Jesus healed. :)

If you are going to be passing northward toward Philadelphia, or out toward Chambersburg, send up a rocket and we'll see what the schedules like.
(I've been reading about old-timey shipwrecks, hence the rocket reference)
