Nuts for berries, and other green things

The regular rain has done great things for parts of the garden and most of our wild and feral plants. The wine berries are everywhere, and the blackberries are trying to catch up. Unfortunately, given where you live, soil testing is a very smart idea. Around here, most of the new growth forest is rising out of old farmland. So I have strong belief that WYSIWYG with regards to the swaths of clay and rock with a paltry top soil.
