The culture of entitlement; the culture of fat

Jan 10, 2012 10:11

"Sensa for Men" is running a radio advertisement right now that includes the line "Men, if you are not actively trying to lose weight, then chances are, you deserve to be fat."

This makes my skin crawl for two entirely separate reasons. ( RANT AHEAD )

food, shopping, communication, feelings

Hear, hear! I hate with the burning heat of a thousand suns comments like that in the radio ad.

Well said :) I am actively trying and those ads still don't (and won't) appeal to me.

Seems like they failed at advertising (and basic human decency) 101. If you're insulting people by trying to persuade them to buy your product, you're doin' it wrong.

Interested in hearing if you get a response from them at all. I agree it's completely bad advertising. I wonder what the marketing people were thinking, how this was interpreted as a possible positive strategy.

P.S. Since the subject has come back up (5/9/2013), no, I never heard back from them.
