*focus*

The exact thing I am working with on my dogs, I am working with on myself.

Sigh. I notice a pattern.

I really want another cat, especially after seeing Peach carry around dead mice and play keep away. I don't think the neighborhood cats are doing the job - I suppose it is too big of a field for the cats.

I get 98% MORE STUFF done when Tammy isn't around. So I totally feel your pain.

And it's not like I don't want him around, it's the exact opposite, but dang, I just can't focus. Hahhah!

Yep, it just means that when we CAN spend time with them, that's what we're doing!

My focus is just way better when there's no distractions. Probably the same for anyone.

Hahahaha! "My focus is way better when there's no distractions". Yep, and that's probably what our dogs think too, "I have great focus when there's no squirrels, smells, something shiny..."

Oh, and that's a cute cat... but I'm thinking you need one with some "outdoor" experience. Meaning, go to a farm and just pick up a barn cat. Problem solved. (and no, I wouldn't do this when the significant other says no... but just an idea.)

Oh I look at CL as well .. Greenhill has a $35 Friday adoption thing, so for me, that's how much a spay/neuter costs down here. I want a PRETTY cat. ;) Well, pretty and outgoing and one that can handle Beam stalking it. I'm just open to whatever cat falls into our household, kinda like Ra did. But Ra will be hard to beat, that is for sure.

Will shelters adopt a cat to you? I've heard of some that won't adopt to you if you have *any* intact animals of *any* species. Stupid, IMO, but sometimes perspective is hard to achieve.

I have a great "in" .. as in one of my students is top dog. ;) I have heard that about other shelters. Not sure on Greenhill's policy all around, but again, I could always go to CL. Regardless, my cats will always be spayed/neutered. Even being cut at 4 months, Ra still sprayed things, and that is some nasty stuff.

Shoot, when I saw the title "Focus" and pictures of a cat under it, I thought you were introducing your new cat "Focus" ;). I actually took a picture of a kitten that was at Petsmart the other day and was going to send it to you, but decided I wouldnt contribute to your delinquency. Your welcome. Plus, the lovley lady volunteer made me mad. Those rescues do themselves no favors when they have unfriendly, unsociable volunteers.

And I TOTALLY get the whole thing about not being able to train when others are around, especially the significant other.

Hahhaahha thank you!! I agree about snotty volunteers .. you should put volunteers in positions that utilize their strengths ;)

I refuse to pay more than $40 for a cat though, the cost of a spay/neuter. Sorry Petsmart, your shiny big doors are not selling me a cat.

Hey, I am thinking of going to Boise in September. I have an entry fee to use. Are you taking everyone?

Look forward to seeing you in Boise. It is a fun, small trial.

Oh yay, you'll be there?! How fun!!! I'm really looking forward to it. Beam does better in smaller trials, so this will be great experience for US. And I've heard the best about this trial, so am looking forward to trying it out! So far so good, trial secretary was prompty AND friendly. Super duper impressed.
