I'm so glad to hear good cancer news. It seems, from here, like such a miracle story, given how dire things seemed to be when you were diagnosed. I know it's been a lot worse than people online can perceive, so it probably seems somehwat less miraculous and more arduous, but I'm just so so happy to hear that the reports from your oncologist are even minimally positive.

What scares me about Sarah Palin is that she's like Bush in a lot of ways. Bush wasn't terribly well-prepared, either, and he was dominated by the neocon guys in the background like Bolton and Wolfowitz, and by Rumsfeld and Chaney and Ashcroft. These guys had their own agendas. The neocons had been pushing for a war with Iraq since the Carter administration. Bush didn't have the knowledge, or the gumption, to fend these guys off, so their ideas became his policies.
Palin as president would be subject to this same thing, being dominated by little guys with big ideas.
I think we'll hear more from Sarah Palin in the future. I'm betting she'll end up, some way or another, in Ted Stevens' Senate seat.
