I find the so called 'Zettai Ryouiki oddly fascinating.

Really, it's very strange...I've only got a vague idea why it's so intriguing ;p

Also, one of the mothers at my nephew's school tends to rock a modified version at school assemblies. She gets it

Yeah, I get what you mean.

And the mother? She is one of the rare women that can actually pull this look off. Usually when someone tries it, they come across looking like a prostitute because they don't understand the true greatness and nature of it ;p (wow, I sound like a total otaku now, and that was only a little bit on purpose, too!) She understands the concept behind the look, if only subconsciously. We're not talking full-on short skirt and really tall socks here, but a more 'appropriate' version with a more normal length skirt that is still quite above the knee. It's hard to explain without a picture, but it's still the same basic concept.

And yes, they actually do exist in real life, I've seen them on real people :o It's rare, though.
