Reading Matter - et al
The first problem is that I ran out of reading material having finisted part 2 of book 3 - A Storm of swords by George R R Martin. It was a great ending and I can see how it would work in a serialisation. Unsavoury experience in Hair Dressers
I had my quarterly (ever 12 weeks that is) appointment with the very talented hairdresser, Charleen. I prepared very well, I took my mobile phone, purse and book (Anasi Boys by Niel Gaiman) but could not find my book when I got there (it slid under the passenger seat!) My shoulder and subsequent connections
This morning I had an appointment with a physiotherepist. Aparently I have calcium deposits on the tendons on my right shoulder. He was very nice and helpful, but managed to get more personal information about me and my family that I would normally disclose to a complete stranger ( Read more... ) -
Srange & Norrell
I am coming towards the end of the first book and I must admit that there is less 'Backgammon playing' and more 'reading' on the train home. There is one thing that disturbs me, the author can't spell. I read nearly half the book convinced she was using some form of Old English, but I cannot find the spelling in my desk dictionary or is the on- ( Read more... ) -
David and the Welfords
We had visitors tonight, the Welfords. We had a nice light meal and lots and lots of chat. It was nice because it wasn't small talk, they are really interesting people and David is feeling a little moribund. D is doing OK, but he still doesn't move too fast.
