**aw shoot, politics - i should not comment. yeah right!!**
I will say it - I voted Liberal too. Not because I thought they would be a great government, but because there's something about Harper I just don't like.
When I did that online "who should you vote" quiz, they said i should vote NDP. TWICE!
But really - did the NDP every really have a chance? If I had a choice (and the money), I would go to a private clinic too!
In any case, this election really made me think - politics are messed up. For every one POSITIVE advertisement, there were 10 SMEAR ads. That is some great scare tactic marketing.
Ah well...at least if I become poor, my kids will have good daycare. But then again, why would I become poor? It's not like an immigrant is going to be allowed to come into Canada and steal my job, right? RIGHT!?! To echo some wise words...
seeing as how I didn't have time to vote (I feel very bad about that btw...got home really late last night and before you start booing me and calling me a bad Canadian citizen I'll have you know that I WANTED to vote and had every INTENTION of voting of Liberal), I have forfeited my right to complain about the Tory gov't fucking things up but I'll just say this: WeAreAllScrewedHarperIsDeadInsideAndSayHelloToTheDemiseOfOurSociety
i voted liberal. not necessarily b/c i agree or disagree w/ their platform, but mainly b/c i didn't want olivia chow to win in my riding. now that the bizatch won, everyone's going to be in for a major shock when they realize the cow will DISAPPEAR for however long she's in power. she's a fairweather friend if you ask me. damn you Tony Ianno...why didn't you campaign better!??! its like you just gave up and handed over trinity-spadina to the NDP
( ... )
I voted NDP since I moved out of Chow's riding (she was supposed to show up at one of my events but bailed - I don't CARE if she has the best legs in Canadian politics!)
Since I moved to Layton's riding, I voted NDP.
I figured I'd vote based on the party platform rather than the consituent.
Since I rely on Cultural and Arts funding a lot, I figure I better go with the party who I think would devote more to that area.
Plus, my girlfriend is a nurse and that two-tiered healthcare thing is gonna suck. Hospitals are low enough on resources as it is.
totally agree w/ you about the health care system. my mom is a medical technician (i think thats what its called) and she's considered part time (even though she works 40 hrs a week). they do this just so they don't have to pay her any benefits.
who said Chow has the best legs? how about Belinda Stronach? hehehe
if i was voting purely on platform, i would probably have voted Green.
My current client here at the production house is an independent healthcare provider and you should see the $$$ these people have. It's insane that the more $$$ you have the more access you have to healthcare.
The Conservative platform supports better health services for the priveliged minority and I guess that's why I didn't vote for them.
Plus my girlfriend keeps complaining that so much of the equipment at the hospital is old or broken.. so something about rich people having a better chance at saving their lives doesn't jive well with me.
The two tiered healthcare is just going to create a bigger separation between rich and poor. Just like the U.S.
