This is My Brain

Sherlock: Listen. *he points at his head* This is my hard drive, and it only makes sense to put things in there that are useful. Really useful. Ordinary people fill their heads with all kinds of rubbish. That makes it hard to get at the stuff that matters. Do you see?
Yes, yes, and YES! That's how I feel precisely, Sherlock ( Read more... )

I'm curious: would you describe what's happening as mutli-tasking? And would you describe your brain's system as top-down or bottom-up?

BTW I'm grateful you responded to comments yesterday, very grateful!!

Talking of tea... did you make me a cup? After you got forty winks, of course. :D

Oh, definitely multi-tasking/threading. My brain does have three cores (there are three core processors on the market today; they just aren't very popular as we now have eight core processors) and all are constantly running at the same time. No wonder I have anxiety issues ( ... )

*chuckle* Three cores does tally with the psychodynamic view of the mind, so that bit isn't quite so unusual to me; though most of us aren't aware of their juxtapositions! You've worked hard for those anxiety issues.. I can tell, so don't diss them! It creates a lot of interest in other people [okay, interest = nosiness, and 'other people' = me; but you might have guessed that! ;D ( ... )

I never really said that my idea was entirely original, as I find that it's incredibly difficult to find something truly original these days, I only dislike the fact that it fits so neatly into Freud's psychodynamic view (and I particularly loathe that theory of psychology/him, not to mention his whole Oedipus/Elektra complex theory).

How do you mean by "their juxtapositions"? I'm a little confused on this on.

You've worked hard for those anxiety issues

LOL. Well, that's certainly one way of looking at it! I'll tell that to my therapist next time I see her. (And yes, I know that you are quite nosey. I understand and accept this about you. ;D)

1600 eh? I thought you were headed straight to bed. tsk tsk tsk. And am I that much of a tell? Yeah, I suppose I am. My ex could always tell when I was lying/fiddling with the truth, much to my dismay at times. I only figured that you needed something to go on, what with your migraine and bed treatment, that letting you win a comment war showdown would be a small compromise ( ... )
