Episode Post Guidelines
(note: please do not do any tagging or memorying for posts you make - mods will take care of that)
Initial Episode Post Guidelines:
1) The title of your post should be of the following format: 01x01 - Children of The Gods
2) Provide a link to the episode's transcript at Stargate Solutions. (found here)
3) Please ensure your entire recap fits in a single LJ post. We want to keep the discussion in one place.
4) Provide a summary of the episode. This can be three sentences or a detailed recap. We ask that anything longer than a handful of paragraphs be put behind an LJ cut. Be funny. Be serious. Tell it from the perspective of Siler's wrench. Whatever tickles your fancy.
5) To enable people using dial-up to participate in the discussion without too much trouble, we ask that the initial post be free of pictures. If you want to do a caption recap or something else that involves images, please sign up for it as a meta post - we'd love to have it, just want to keep the discussion posts accessible.
6) Please keep these posts general (encompass the entire episode rather than a few specific parts) and ship/slash-free to be accessible to all fans. Also, we appreciate initial posts being more on the positive side.
7) Please include at least two questions or discussion points highlighted at the end in addition to any you include during the recap for people to use as a springboard to get them talking.
8) Have fun and if you have any questions, ask a mod.
9) Remember, initial episode posts should be posted by 9pm CST on the Monday of that episode's week. Mods will check over the post, ask you to fix any problems, and clear it from the moderation queue on Tuesday. If you need to back out or are going to be a little late, please, please, please let us know. If you don't post and you don't contact us, you forfeit your claim and make Teal'c very sad.
Other Episode Posts
So, you volunteered to write up a post analyzing the "science" behind "Red Sky" or the mythology/cultural significance in "Spirits" or Jack's outfits in "Window of Opportunity" or why "x episode" is the ultimate "ship of your choice" episode, etc. Excellent!
Again we ask these posts be more of a positive spin - rationally/civilly discussing why you don't approve of Pete's actions in "Chimera" is okay, bashing Pete is not. When in doubt, ask.
Please use a descriptive post title and include the episode title and please LJ-cut any pictures and anything longer than a few paragraphs. If anything isn't worksafe, please warn and put it behind a cut.
Beyond that, go wild and have fun!
