I took the stairs two by two and was eternally grateful that Lian had removed all the leggos, crayons and socks that had previously littered the steps. I ran a hand over my head and hoped that I had dressed okay: hunter green tee shirt and black jeans. When Donna had said she was coming over she hadn’t alluded that this was going to be dressy.

It's sort of the way I'm feeling at the moment. The universe (scratch that, multiverse), isn't holding and I'm the one stuck in the center of it all. What's worse is that it's because I'm not supposed to be here. I'm an anomoly. No one can seem to explain how I should exist, and yet when Wally's memories brought "me" back, I couldn't even explain to myself why I existed, either. Jason and Kyle certainly aren't helping things, and I need time to think. Time to figure out, once again, just who exactly is Donna Troy? And I know where I need to start.
At the beginning. I've already talked to Wally and Dick, and so when I started talking briefly to Roy and things began to fall into place, I needed to know for sure -- I needed to make sure that I wasn't using him again. I don't think that's what's happening. After all, one of the reasons Roy joined the Teen Titans way back was because we were dating.
Stop over-thinking all of this. I knocked at his door, smoothing out my black blouse and looking down at my jeans. ( ... )

Princess grabbed my hand and hauled to the door. "Daddy, she's here! Let's go!"
"Okay!" I re-situated our hands and manuevered Lian slightly behind me. I looked her over. Jeans and a Teen Titans tee shirt. Should be good enough. I did not fail to notice that she had new barrettes in her hair. I took a deep breath.
Suddenly, I was excited. I let the feeling power my hand and I opened the door. Donna was standing there on my porch, looking beautiful in a black top. Like always.
I felt Lian pinch the back of my leg. "Hi. You look great."
Before I could say "C'mon in," Lian darted from behind me and went straight for Donna.
"Donna!" my little girl yelled as she moved fast with open arms...

Wonder who picked it out...
"Roy." I shook my head a little, looking at him and finally saying the first thing that came to mind. "You look good with the shorter hair." Walking forward, I pulled him into a tight hug, too, but I didn't want to let go. It was familiar, warm, and welcome.
"I have missed you so much," I whispered into his ear, not really wanting to let go.

"I cut all the hair off right before the Outsiders, well Dick and I's Outsiders," I said picking my words carefully. "I'm glad you liked it. You look amazing yourself."
We walked into the living room, Lian squeezing in between Donna and I as we did.
"Pardon us if anything seems... messy. Lian kind of recently tried to redecorate with some paint."
"That was an accident and Uncle Connor helped too," Lian quickly defended.
"Right," I muttered. "You want to sit down? Want anything to drink?"

I nodded against his chest. Everything would be fine. I could make it fine.
"Well, Lian is quite beautiful," I said quietly, my arms still around his waist. I saw Roy lick his lips and impulsively, I leaned up and kissed him. I think my heart was pounding so loudly that he could have heard it. Pulling back, I didn't say anything. I just waited to see if I'd done the right thing or if I had screwed it all up again.

My grin widened. "She gets that from her fath--" My words were lost as Donna pressed her lips against mine. I lost all thought and relished how soft they were, how good they felt and I pressed down harder. I felt my hands slip to her lower back. God, I missed this...

I hadn't thought to let the kiss go on very long since I simply wanted to test the waters with him, but as his hands slid along me and pulled me back, I couldn't help myself. I found myself reaching back for him again, returning his kiss that was far more intense than mine had been, and cupping his face with my hands. Coming up for air, I chuckled slightly. "Food. Dinner." I brushed my lips across his quickly before returning to my work with the salad, grinning quite wickedly.
"I take it this means I can stay?"

"You can definitely stay," I said as I winked at her. I made myself busy by putting on the meat, letting it brown, and started the water for the pasta. "Where are you staying? Do you have your own place or are you staying at the Tower...?"
Talk Harper, just Talk. Forget about the kiss...
