All right, I suppose it’ll be the 60 GB iPod after all. It’s going to be a little while until I can actually afford it-still have things like health insurance and student loans to contend with, after all-so for now I am filling iTunes with music. That way when the iPod finally arrives, it will be a simple matter of plugging it in and filling it up

- As for Radiohead, I have The Bends and Pablo Honey, come to think of it. But yes, I must get my hands on OK Computer!
- How the fuck did I forget Oasis? I mean really, it was the soundtrack to my high school years (along with Depeche Mode and The Cure).
- Mellon Collie is a classic. It’s been years since I last heard it!
- I loved Boys for Pele from the start, mostly because it was so different from anything I had heard before (at that time).
- Yes, Blue Album! I have Green Album, but I only wound up liking certain tracks. Have you heard any of their new stuff (other than “Beverly Hills”)? I have not yet, and I wonder if it is any good ( ... )

i haven't heard new weezer except for "BH." i've heard it's not that impressive, much like their last album ("maladroit," which i have and have listened to maybe once). i have the green album, but blue is just so much better. if you love blue then you'll definitely love "pinkerton."
have fun listening!

Speaking of electronic, see if you can find a copy of Moby's Play with the b-sides. They're all really good. I also like Everything is Wrong a lot too.
I also would not be able to get along without Elliott Smith's either/or, Figure 8, and the posthumous release From a Basement on a Hill. If you must limit yourself to one, either/or would be my choice.
I also don't know what Tori Amos you have/don't have, but Scarlet's Walk is the strongest thing she's done, I think. After something like that, I was kind of disappointed by The Beekeeper.
Uh, I'm also fond of David Gray's entire back catalogue, but White Ladder is still his best work. And I'm really digging the new Death Cab for Cutie CD. Hopefully this should be enough to get you started.

Speaking of Bowie:
The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars
Aladdin Sane
Diamond Dogs
The Man Who Sold the World.
Hunky Dory. I like pretty much everything he's put out, but these are my essentials.
Pretty much every Smashing Pumpkins album.
Iggy Pop - Lust for Life
The Clash - Self Titled, and The Story of the Clash, Vol. 1
Oasis - (What's the Story) Morning Glory?
Poe - Hello
PJ Harvey - Stories from the City, Stories from the Sea
Elliott Smith - XO
Blondie - Self-titled
A lot of Bob Dylan. I couldn't even pick one.
Soundtracks:
Velvet Goldmine - Glam homage!
Hedwig and the Angry Inch - More glam homage!
Blackhawk Down - Mostly Hans Zimmer
Rachid Taha - Made in Medina. Algerian rock with a kind of electronic feel.
U2 - The Joshua Tree and War.
Rage Against the Machine - Evil Empire
The Chemical Brothers - Come With Us
The Eels - Breautiful Freak
Franz Ferdinand - Self titled
The Who - Who's Next, Tommy ( ... )
