God. Ow.

But there was just something about that face, looking - impossibly - older, more mature than it did just a few days ago, that made him move even closer instead.

I don't think Rimmer understands. At all. Lister's been through hell and back, and Rimmer just doesn't get it. (And this is a going-through-hell bit for Lister. He wants his Rimmer back.)

Wonderful characterization, and I'm not just talking about Lister. Bravo!

No, Rimmer doesn't understand. It must be very confusing for him though, so I don't blame him for that. For being a bastard about iit though? Hell yeah. ;)

That was so good! I like the idea of Lister gaining ground with Rimmer...and then losing it all completely with the "new" Rimmer.

Yes... That's one of the things that fascinates me about VIII. The series could have been so much more, but that idea I really like.

Gahhh! A punch up! The whole first paragraph of this had me laughing hysterically. And this:

“Treeporn?” Lister couldn’t know. There was no way he could possibly know.

is just.....just....Treeporn!
Lovely tale, though I always felt sorry for VIII!Rimmer, it's not his fault poor thing.

Niiiice. Great characterization of them both.

As much as I dislike series VIII, there's a ton of potential in Lister's reaction to Rimmer, and I love fics that explore that.

Thank you! That's what I always look for in other fics, so I'm glad when I'm told I managed to do it myself. :)

And yes, that's one of the things I really like about VIII - that potential.

Righty!

Rimmer groaned, giving up trying to fish his favorite pen out of the - admittedly squeaky clean and unused - toilet bowl in the holding cell using only exaggerated eyebrow movements.

The sarcasm dribbled from Rimmer’s words like molasses from - well - whatever it was molasses dripped from. Rimmer had never been entirely certain. Was it made by insects; like honey? No, that wasn’t right.Brava ( ... )
