I didn't like Iron Man 3 as much. It wasn't bad, far from it, but it felt... disjointed. I loved Tony's PTSD and Pepper kicking butt but my favorite bit was the after credit scene.
I still have to wait almost 3 weeks before they show Star Trek here. I can't wait! I'm glad you were able to enjoy it despite whom Benedict is playing. Unfortunately, some people see just that and that's it. I mean, I can see the faults of a movie and still enjoy it as a whole, see XMFC.
I think it's due to the fact that they have: Extremis, Rescue, AIM, Ten Rings, plus movieverse Avenger forming all in there all at once. It sort of made it all clipped and choppy at places.
Sometimes, the racefail of a movie is something I can deal with and sometimes it isn't. It really depends. But, I never expected much from this movie anyhow. So, it helped.
Hannibal is excellent. I love how much of a mindfuck it all is. I just wish the ratings were doing better.

I think for me, it depends on the actor chosen. When the actor is great and does amazing job with the character, I *can* see why they would choose him despite being white. When it's just a big name who does a bad job, then it's very cringe-worthy. I mean, from the reviews I read, everybody and their uncle is smitten with Benedict's John Harrison. On the other hand, Jake Gyllenhaal as the Prince of Persia... Or Johnny Depp as Tonto... Well.
