We did a whirlwind weekend in Washington, drove down Friday night(in the rain, ew) to a racetrack in Maryland, chatted with Seth's Shelby club buddies Saturday morning(race was actually cancelled due to questionable dampness) then headed on to DC to explore from about 1pm to Sunday at sunset. drove back late Sunday night through 6 states. zzzzz. my pumpkin was decidedly triangular, so i made use of it :) two critters in a tree! i can't seem to get a good picture of the two of them together. and i have to cut a bit more out of the bat's eyes, they aren't glowing properly.

first frost at my house this week!

and i turned on the heat. i have never had radiators before, i'm thrilled by their variety of charming noises: clanking, hissing, gurgling etc. they sure heat things up nicely! hopefully this will be a much cozier winter than at my old apartment. although, last year, i didn't have to see the utility bills!

I randomly found this documentary on WGBH last night. It's a typical nature show about a fairly unique landscape that is recovering from being in the middle of the Yugoslavian civil war. They seem to have a very good website for the show as well, lots of info, photos and maps.
