Things had been strained between them ever since he'd found out. Found out that Zelos was dead. And how. Why. But he hadn't seen this coming

[Because Emil's smart enough to know that Lloyd wouldn't have reacted well to that?]

He moved out. He didn't warn me, he just did it. [He's trying to find refuge in anger. His hand clenches around the paper he's holding in his hand.] And then he told me he did in a letter!

[Yeaaaaah, the moving out part doesn't surprise him as much as it probably should.]

[Sort of. Except whenever they were in the same room, things were still stiff and tense. And maybe he'd tried a few more times to convince Zelos he should change his mind. But there was still plenty of time when he didn't!]

I'll keep an eye out for him. [A guy like that, especially with something like materia at his collar bone, can't be that hard to find.]

Thanks. [He hunches his shoulders, still feeling irritated (at least that's what he's telling himself).] Make sure you hit him pretty hard. He can stand it.

[Maybe another day Lloyd might have been inclined to defend his friend, but today he's just as happy to hear someone echo the insults in his head. He doesn't even think to question how Kratos knows Zelos well enough to call him an idiot.]

He moved out without telling me until he was gone. He did it behind my back!

[ Kratos ponders, considers saying that he knew those living arrangements were a bad idea, considers mentioning how Zelos probably was never very candid with Lloyd either (considering his association with Cruxis), but he doesn't say it. Instead... ]

And you've heard no word from him since?

[Probably just as well. Lloyd wouldn't be receptive to having more than six months of his judgment insulted like that.

He shakes his head.]

No. He just left me a note. I don't even know where he went.

Fine. [His eyes dodge to the side. He's lying.] Just fine. My roommate's just being an idiot.
