Do I even need to say that I loved 300 Rise of an Empire? If you make the decision to see this movie, you will probably enjoy it because it's exactly what you expected. It's visual feast of half-naked muscular men slaughtering each other with a good heterosexual sex scene thrown in to offset the overall homoeroticism

Your review got me very excited about this movie. I love love 300 and have seen it a gazillion times. It had everything I could want in a movie and some pretty haunting scenes (that orgy in Xerxes tent was so beautiful with the way it played with beauty and ugliness). I wasn't so hyped up about this because 99% oft sequels suck and Zack Synder wasn't the director. But I was planning to watch it on DVD. Now I might crawl out of my hermit's cave to go to the theatre.

I've seen 300 at least ten times. Gorgo is so Catelyn-esque that I will forever be bitter HBO cast Lena Headey as Cersei instead of Catelyn.

Anyway, 300 Rise of an Empire is exactly the sort of movie it's fun to watch on a big screen.

I loved it too! Well, I'm not ashamed to say that's the movie I loved the most in 2014 along with Wolf of Wall Street. Everything was just to exciting, all the theater was excited, and I want to buy the soundtrack now.

Yeah, it's my favorite movie of the year so far too. The year is young, but 300 Rise of an Empire was the movie I was most looking forward to and it lived up to expectations.

I'll pass. I'm far too fond of the actual history to pay to see it turned on its ear. There is no possible way it could ever be more awesome than the facts. Eye candy is one thing, but making Themistocles, of all people, into a second Leonidas is beyond ridiculous. Not to mention the fact that Artemisia had both more balls and more brains than Hollywood knows what to do with, if they decided to turn her into a rescued sex slave. Yeesh.
