Is there a reason I'm not seeing lots and lots of newspaper articles about the fact that they've confirmed that there's water on Mars? Because that seems like a REALLY BIG DEAL to me.

When the Phoenix lander touched down, the article was in the small side-newshole on page 7ish of the Chicago Tribune. Science is not as cool as Barack Obama.

It's not even that! If it was just that science isn't as cool as Barack Obama, that would be one thing. Still not ideal, but okay. It's that science is not as cool as Britney Spears. Okay, and I'm the last person to judge interest in celebrity. Every other post on this journal is about my deep interest in the lives of members of emo bands. BUT WATER ON MARS IS COOLER THAN PETE WENTZ TOO. I suspect Pete Wentz would agree with me.

I jumped around the house squealing about water on Mars. I don't know why everyone in the world didn't do the same.

HOORAY THESE ARE IMPORTANT BOOKS!

When exactly do you leave for DC? Chris and I are hopefully caving soon, and we would, of course, have to stop by and visit you en route.

I don't either. The world is weird.

I'm leaving around the 10th or so. Let me know what your plans are.
