I'm interested in the idea of Buffy sleeping with a girl, but my interest is offset by my deep, abiding bitterness about the fact that the girl she sleeps with is not Faith, so whatever.
Tell me about it! (And I'm quite sure that Brian K. Vaughan, the writer of the previous Faith-centric storyline feels the same way. "JOSSSSSS!!!!! IF YOU'D TOLD ME I COULD HAVE TEH-GAY I WOULD HAVE USED FAITH!")
The story makes sense in the context of the comic, and it was played for laughs much more than I expected. And not in a 'it's funny she's sleeping with a girl' way; the discovery of the relationship is really played about the same way you'd expect if it was a het relationship. I'm not sure I love this storyline (it involves Xander revisiting Dracula) but it's an interesting direction for the comic, and Satsu is a well-developed character.
I'm going to wait to read the BtVS comics until the series is done, so I'm reserving judgement, but I am glad that it makes sense in context. Still! It should have been Faith! If Joss loved me, it woud have been Faith.
*clings* I wish I had been able to. My internet cut out again RIGHT after I posted. SOMEDAY I will have reliable internet access again. SOMEDAY. I totally want to discuss Gabe more. And probably talk about our bigbang fic (I haven't worked on my part much, but I will this weekend). And throw random pieces of Gabe/VickyT at you because I still don't know where it came from - aside from my current Gabe obsession, of course.
