I am back in New Orleans! Last night I went to see Dr. John at House of Blues, which was awesome, then I drank entirely too much gin. Today I went by the old apartment to take the keys and do last minute cleaning, but our evil old landlady was already in there with the painters. So. Oh well. She thinks she's renting that place for over $2,000?

I still have read no yuletide stories. At this point I'll probably just wait for the reveal. But I'll definitely check out your recs lists!

Ah-ha! We did something like that in Scotland when I was a child. My grandmother would bake coins into the cake. Almost everyone got something, but the one who got the shilling(or whatever happened to be the greatest amount) was considered the lucky one. ;-))
