You are GOLD and SILVER-ER-ER

* It's raining, with very bright lightning and very loud thunder. I like rainy afternoons when I don't have to leave or do anything, but I admit that rain makes me kind of nervous around here. I used to love rain. I spent my childhood LITERALLY praying for rain. In church. Now it will always be a little unsettling ( Read more... )

It's all about a conversation I was having with Chris and Samantha. It's not a question of which is better. It's a question of which has more potential to have the world end in a truly horrific way - also taking into account that the world would still be extant afterwards in order for there to be POST-apocalyptic possibilites.

It's possible you had to be there.

I loved Music & Lyrics, and I also spent the entire movie slashing Hugh and his bandmate. How can you NOT? They are George Michael and that other guy from Wham!

LEXX! OMG, that series sucked SO HARD. And I also love it. Heeeeeeee. One of my friends worked on it, and I actually got invited to the closing cast party. The writers for that show were seriously whacked. I mean, SERIOUSLY.

You really can't not. At least if you're us. *g*

OMG, REALLY? /jealous. It's so bad it's awesome. Those writers had to be seriously whacked out. And on serious drugs. THERE IS NO OTHER EXPLANATION.

But there was canon genderswap! For that I can forgive a lot.

I also like the rain.

I chose Harry Potter AND Transformers--even though I'm not sure what Transformers is--because the apocalypse, like a little black dress, goes with EVERYTHING evar.

Transformers was popular when I was a kid, but I was never really into it. There are robot superheroes . . . or something. There's a new movie coming out, but I'm not actually that familiar with the premise. I was just having a conversation with a friend about things that have potential for apocalypse and somehow this became the debate. *g*

Oh, now I remember. Dimly. Transformers sounds like it would have awesome crossover potential with the Matrix, what with the machines/aliens taking over the world and using humans as an energy source in what looks like a post-apocalyptic scenario.

And anyway, giant fighting robots is a good, solid way to break the world.

But Harry Potter's got the classic soulless (literally!) megalomaniac evil overlord going on with the genocidal overtones. That's not even mentioning how HP fandom has probably come up with a good body of scenarios to break the world.

See, my vote was actually for HP, especially once my friend said that the transformers-type apocalype would actually destroy the world past the point where it would be possible for there to be any post-apocalyptic world. But I am not familiar enough with transformers-'verse to know if this is valid or not. Why HP and Transformers? I DO NOT KNOW.

Sometimes my friends and I have really, really weird conversations.

Lexx was unspeakably awesome! I'm completely enthralled.

Also, mandatory drinking hours sound like an incredibly good idea.

Hi. hi. It is you, right? being all mysterious so that your rl lj name is not linked with fannish perversity in unlocked posts? *g*

Lexx is so bad that it makes you want to marathon the series in its entirety because it just should not be possible for something to be so bad and so awesome and the same time. WE CAN DO THAT.

I can't believe that the concept of mandatory drinking hours did not occur to us before now.

I figured it was you. I was just teasing about the real life linked to fandom perversity thing. (Well. Mostly.) *g*

Have you heard about the fangirl asking Jensen about wincest? WTF, seriously? That madness is why I had fannish perversity on the brain.

Oh, I want to see Music & Lyrics, because I can't help it, I love Hugh Grant and Drew Barrymore is my girlcrush. I could move it up my queue but I'll probably wait until I'm really depressed because I know it'll make me happy.

It really is funny. The are some great lines, and Grant and Barrymore are totally adorable.
