I saw this recipe last year on TV. A coworker made them for a morning tea and they were delish. I've tweaked the recipe a bit and made these for Christmas gifts this year ( Read more... )

They were very Christmasy with the chopped cranberries on them. And they were very tasty!

SOrry about that! Castor sugar is a fine white sugar. If you eat white sugar, someone suggested putting it in a food processor. If you don't eat white sugar but eat unrefined brown type sugars the same thing would probably work. I don't know about honey in the recipe or other sweetners but it might be worth an experiment.

Hmmm, I don't know to be honest. I can't see why not but at the same time don't know if it would be too....powdery. It might be worth a try but you might want to cut back the sugar amount as it seems you'd get more sugar in the finer form than the granulated. Or is that my mis-informed brain thinking??
