Do you run for office because you think you know how things should work and you'd like to make that happen (through legal channels and stating your intentions while you're running for office), or because you want to execute the will of the majority?

I've seen quite a few people worrying about not being able to go help in the Mississippi Delta. Understandable, but don't forget that there are people local to you who also need food and medicine and clothing and who have no place to live--even if not because a hurricane blew through. I love New Orleans and it's not easy to evacuate. Although I'm holding onto hope because I've seen a couple of Cat 5s become Cat 3s by the time they make landfall, I really hope it survives.
